Questions we get from South West patients
I am in Cornwall. Does the distance affect my care?
No. The assessment is history, pattern and photographs, and none of that improves by being done in person. The only practical difference is the delivery window, which is one to two working days rather than next day.
There is no hair loss specialist near me. Is remote care a compromise?
It is the opposite of a compromise here. The alternative for most South West patients has been a GP who sees hair loss occasionally, or a long trip to Bristol or London. A clinician who reviews hair loss cases daily, reachable without travelling, is usually better care rather than worse.
What if my hair loss turns out not to be pattern baldness?
Then we say so and do not prescribe for it. Diffuse thinning across the whole scalp has a longer list of causes than androgenetic alopecia, and we would rather arrange blood tests through WMG Healthcare, or refer you on, than issue a prescription that cannot work.
