About this product

Zinc deficiency presents with a non-specific cluster of symptoms (taste changes, slow wound healing, recurrent infections, brittle nails, hair shedding) and is sometimes picked up incidentally on broader blood testing. Long-term zinc supplementation without copper can suppress copper absorption and cause a secondary copper deficiency, which is why we pair them in a single capsule. Final zinc form (picolinate vs bisglycinate) is set by which brand offers the most clinically appropriate and price-competitive option at any given time.

How it works

Zinc picolinate (zinc bound to picolinic acid) and zinc bisglycinate (zinc bound to two glycine molecules) are both chelated forms with good absorption and tolerability. Zinc is a co-factor for hundreds of enzymes including those involved in immune function, wound healing, and the hair growth cycle. Copper bisglycinate is included to maintain the zinc-to-copper ratio, since high-dose zinc inhibits copper absorption at the gut.
